LOVE this little stove I have numerous camp stoves propane butane as well as several lightweight backpacking stoves Jetboil, etc. . Every stove has its strengths, but I ve come to really appreciate this white gas stove. I recently needed to cook corn on the cob for a group. I had 8 ears standing vertically in a 4L Solo Stove stainless pot. I decided to use the Coleman stove for this chore. Worked wonderfully This stove isn t much larger than a backpacking stove but it cranks out a LOT of heat and the heat is dispersed across a larger burner area than most lightweight backpacking stoves . It s very sturdy--I probably would not have tried to place a 4L pot with 8 ears of corn on my Jetboil, but it was no problem at all on this stove. Maybe 4-5 min to a rolling boil...and delicious corn on the cob about 10 minutes later. Likewise with cast iron cookware--it s pretty heavy for a lightweight stove, but isn t a problem on this one--I ve fried in a 12 cast iron pan that works great on this stove. Another thing I really like with this stove is the long burn time--I ve been amazed at how little white gas was used after cooking with this stove. I think the specs say 1 45 running full throttle...but you rarely need to run full throttle.
